What is Lemon Bottle?
Lemon Bottle is marketed as an innovative injectable solution promising a non-surgical approach to fat dissolving. It has gained attention for its potential to reshape and contour the body without the need for invasive procedures. The trend has exploded in 2023 with countless TikTok videos about the injections and their results.
We wanted to explore what all the hype is about and delve deeper into the trend, where it came from, if it works and if it is safe. Read on to find out more.
How does Lemon Bottle fat dissolving work?
Lemon Bottle fat dissolving involves injecting a solution into targeted areas of the body, aiming to break down and dissolve fat cells to be removed by the body. The purported outcome is a more sculpted and toned appearance, particularly in stubborn areas where traditional weight loss methods may fall short.
Many practitioners have taken to TikTok and Instagram to show the effect of the injections by injecting the solution into the fat surrounding slices of bacon and showing the thinning of the fat.
What are the main ingredients in Lemon Bottle and how do they work?
Lemon Bottle does not contain deoxycholic acid like other popular fat dissolvers such as Aqualyx. Instead, it utilises substances such as Vitamin B2 and bromelain to break down body fat. We have been unable to find a full ingredients list for the product so it may contain other substances. More to come on this in the safety section of this article.
There is very little scientific research, papers or formal clinical research to support the efficacy and safety of fat dissolving using Vitamin B and bromelain. This combined with the lack of full ingredients list makes it difficult to clearly say how the injection works to dissolve fat.
Is Lemon Bottle tested and regulated in the UK?
Due to the lack of deoxycholic acid Lemon Bottle is considered as a cosmetic treatment rather than a medical treatment, meaning that it is not subject to the same laws and regulations as other fat dissolving products on the market.
Our research has shown that Lemon Bottle is readily available to purchase online, with no barriers to purchase, and no requirement to have had any training to administer the solution.
Lemon Bottle is manufactured in Korea, a country considered to be a leader in the cosmetics industry. However, Lemon Bottle does not have US FDA approval or a European/UK CE mark for medical devices, both are which are clear indicators of safety and efficacy.
Does Lemon Bottle have side effects?
Like any cosmetic procedure, Lemon Bottle is associated with potential common side effects including; localised swelling, bruising, and discomfort at the injection site. Some individuals may also experience redness or itching in the treated area. Side effects are generally temporary however there have been reports of more serious complications, including infections, uneven fat removal, nerve damage and permanent tissue damage.
It is important to be aware of these potential side effects and the long term risks that could be caused by the solution itself or the incorrect administration of the solution.
Is Lemon Bottle safe?
Depending on who you ask you will likely get differing answers to this question. At Aqua-Tox we pride ourselves on only offering clinically proven, safe & effective treatments, most of which are FDA approved. Given that Lemon Bottle is not clinically proven, licensed or FDA approved we would approach it with caution and not consider it a safe treatment. The simple fact that it does not have a full ingredients list would be an immediate red flag preventing us from offering this treatment. We would never risk the health of our clients by injecting something without knowing exactly what was in it.
If you are considering Lemon Bottle injections with another clinic or practitioner we would urge you to do your own research, consider the potential risks involved and consider alternative fat reduction treatments. We have previously weighed up the pros and cons of Fat Freezing, Fat Dissolving and RF Body Contouring treatments which may assist your research.
What can Lemon Bottle not do?
Whilst Lemon Bottle might offer a non-surgical approach to fat reduction, it’s important to know its limitations. As with all fat reduction treatments it is not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle, including proper diet and exercise, and results will not be maintained unless these factors are also considered. It is also important to know that it is not suitable for significant weight loss or as a remedy for obesity. It is marketed as a treatment for small stubborn pockets of fat.
Whilst it may be effective in reducing fat it is not clear whether it offers any skin benefits such as skin tightening or smoothing. It is possible that after fat is dissolved the skin in the area will appear lax.
This is not a ‘miracle’ fat loss treatment and realistic expectations about what can be achieved are necessary. A wider consideration of your overall health and wellness should also play a part in your decision to seek this type of treatment.
What is a safer alternative to Lemon Bottle?
For those who prioritise safety and are hesitant about the potential risks associated with Lemon Bottle there are alternative effective treatment methods. At Aqua-Tox we offer Lipofirm Face & Body Contouring treatments that reduce fat, tighten skin and activate muscles. This 3 in 1 approach targets all of the main concerns associated with fat reduction; inch loss, toning & skin laxity.
We chose to invest in both Lipofirm Pro and Med systems due to their FDA approval, clinical research and scientific evidence supporting radio frequency based treatments. We have been using this technology in our Hertford clinic for over 5 years and continue to see the life-changing impact of these treatments. Our clients are able to achieve the results they’ve always wanted to look and feel more comfortable and confident in their own skin.
We offer a free Lipofirm consultation in order for you to find out more about the treatment and discuss your fat loss goals with one of our experienced therapists. Book online, call or email us to find out more & book.
