RF microneedling, also known as radio frequency microneedling combines two clinically proven technologies into one to work into the deep layers of the skin.
Radio frequency energy is passed into the dermal layer of the skin via the tiny microneedles. This rf energy heats the dermal layer causing existing collagen and elastin to tighten whilst simultaneously boosting new collagen production.
By creating micro injuries to the skins surface with the mirco needles we also stimulate the bodies natural healing response, again stimulating new collagen production but also regenerating the skins outer layer for fresher, clearer skin.
RF microneedling is recommended to treat fine lines & wrinkles, crows feet, laughter lines and frown lines, large pores and stretch marks.
RF Microneedling Results
When we reach the age of 25 our collagen and elastin production starts to decline, and each year after this we see a further 1-2% decline in production. To combat the effects of this we use radio frequency (RF) to tighten existing collagen and elastin and stimulate new production in the months following treatment.

What to expect from RF microneedling?
When having an RF microneedling treatment at Aqua-Tox you can expect the following stages during treatment.
- To complete a detailed medical questionnaire and follow pre-care advice ahead of your treatment
- A short consultation prior to the treatment to walk you through the procedure and answer any questions
- To have some photos taken of your face before beginning treatment in order to be able to assess results.
- The therapist will ask for your feedback throughout the treatment to ensure it is comfortable. The needles used are just 0.2mm in length and most people do not find this painful.
- You will experience some redness following treatment and possibly some swelling or mild bruising. It is important to follow the pre care and aftercare advise given in order to minimise these effects.
- Further photos will be taken after the treatment to show immediate skin condition and results.
- You will be able to return to your day following treatment but may want to stay at home if possible due to redness and not being able to use skincare or make-up products,
