Radio frequency facials give exceptional skin tightening results without the need for surgery or invasive skin penetration.
The Lipofirm systems use patented TriLipo and DMA Technology to contour the face and tighten the skin across areas of concern such as the jowls, cheeks and around the eyes.
DMA (dynamic muscle activation) stimulates muscle contraction to add volume to the face where needed.
When we reach the age of 25 our collagen and elastin production starts to decline, and each year after this we see a further 1-2% decline in production. By heating the dermal layer we also cause collagen fibres to shorten giving an immediate tightening effect on the skin. In addition to giving an immediate effect this heating also stimulates fibroblast cells to create new collagen & elastin in the weeks following treatment to give long lasting results.

What does a radio frequency facial do?
An RF facial, radio frequency facial, uses energy waves to stimulate collagen fibres and longer term collagen production, leading to tighter, firmer skin and reduced appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Does RF really tighten skin?
Yes, RF technology has been clinically proven to tighten skin by stimulating collagen production, resulting in a firmer, more youthful appearance. The Lipofirm Med and Geneo systems that we use at Aqua-Tox are extensively clinically tested and are both FDA approved.
How many RF sessions are needed?
The number of RF sessions needed varies depending on individual skin concerns and goals. Typically, we recommend a course of 8 treatments taken weekly for maximum results. We then suggest maintenance treatments every 1-2 months to prolong the results from an initial course.
RF facials do give an instant tightening effect so can also be a great single treatment option ahead of a big event or special occasion.
How often should RF be done?
Results from RF will be maximised when an initial course of treatment is taken over 6-8 weeks. It is then recommended to have maintenance treatments every 4-8 weeks to sustain results achieved.
Which is better RF or HIFU?
Both RF and HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) are effective in skin tightening, but they work through different mechanisms. RF is often preferred for its versatility and ability to target different layers of the skin, while HIFU may offer more pronounced results in a single session.
Is RF better than injectables?
RF is a non-invasive treatment that stimulates collagen production naturally, providing gradual and subtle improvements over time. Injectables, such as dermal fillers or botulinum toxin, offer immediate results but require maintenance treatments to sustain the effects.
The emergence of new injectables such as Polynucleotides can be beneficial as they also work to stimulate natural collagen production.
Injectables can be used in conjunction with RF under the guidance of an experienced aesthetician.
What should I do before a radio frequency facial?
Before an RF facial, it's recommended to cleanse your skin thoroughly and remove any makeup. Your therapist will also cleanse the skin before treatment. Avoid using harsh skincare products or treatments that could irritate the skin prior to the session.
What should I do after a radio frequency facial?
After an RF facial, it's important to keep the skin hydrated and protected from the sun. Drink plenty of water, avoid direct sunlight and wear SPF 50, and apply a moisturiser or soothing cream to help calm any redness or irritation. Your therapist will also advise you on aftercare and answer any questions you may have.
Who cannot have radio frequency facials?
Radio frequency facials are generally safe for most individuals. However, those with pacemakers, active skin infections, recent cancer, or certain medical conditions may not be suitable candidates. We will ensure that you complete a medical questionnaire prior to treatment to ensure it is safe to go ahead with RF treatment.
Can I combine an RF facial with other treatments?
Yes, RF facials can be combined with other treatments such as LED therapy and injectable aesthetics treatments to enhance results and address multiple skin concerns. Our experienced therapists and our clinic nurse will be able to advise what is most suitable for your specific skin concerns.

Aqua-Tox is located on Foxholes Farm in Hertford. We are very close to the A414, A10 and M25 making us easily accessible from surrounding towns in Hertfordshire and Essex. Free parking is available outside the clinic or in the main farm car parks.
