During your lifestyle assessment, we will:
Check stress
We all feel stress from time to time. However the volume, frequency and how we manage this stress is key to our health and wellbeing. We will assess your psychological stress levels and then using innovative technology, we will measure your physiological response to stressors and cognitive performance.
Check diet and nutrition
Our Clinical Physiologist will gain an insight into your nutritional habits throughout your health assessment and will help you understand the strengths and weaknesses of your diet and guide you on the necessary changes to improve it.
Check diabetes
Over half a million people in the UK have diabetes without knowing it. We will look for risk factors by measuring your fasted blood glucose level and analysing your urine. Our Physiologist will then discuss your results and help you manage your blood sugar levels through exercise, nutrition and other lifestyle changes.
Check cholesterol
Your heart is your body's most vital organ, so make it healthier with a few simple checks. Our blood test will assess your cholesterol level, whilst our Physiologist will work with you to help lower your risk of cardiovascular disease by implementing healthier choices.
Check fitness
Using your test results and our discussions with you, we will assess your fitness levels. You'll then have a coaching session with our Physiologist to help you identify any changes you need to make to your diet, exercise levels and lifestyle.
Check lifestyle goals
It's no good having a list of test results without the knowledge and motivation to make changes. Your Physiologist will make sure you leave with a lifestyle programme to suit you. We can then arrange a follow up session to ensure you are staying on track.

Preventative Lifestyle Health Assessment FAQs
Are there age restrictions for having a health assessment?
You must be at least 18 years old to undergo a health assessment. Unfortunately, we cannot conduct assessments for anyone under the age of 18.
(Note, there is no upper age limit.)
Can I still attend a health assessment if I am pregnant?
Yes, our health assessments are more than just “know your numbers”. Many of your health metrics are likely to be different than usual during your pregnancy. However, our Physiologist will be able to advise you on lifestyle considerations in order to optimise your wellbeing during your pregnancy and beyond.
How long will the heath assessment take?
The assessment takes up to an hour.
If I don't want to have some of the tests, can I decline them?
Yes – the Physiologist who carries out your health assessment will explain each test as they go. If you do not want to have the test, you can decline it.
What should I wear to my Health Assessment?
You should wear comfortable and flexible clothing (loose top/tracksuit/shorts).
Can I consume food & beverages before my assessment?
Drinking advisory
We advise continuing to drink water as normal, as staying well hydrated can facilitate many of the tests and make it easier to accurately assess both urine and blood samples, along with blood pressure measurements.
Food advisory
If you are:
- Non-diabetic – do not eat or drink anything other than water for 8-10 hours prior to your appointment.
- Diabetic – continue to eat and drink as normal.
- Pregnant – only fast if you are comfortable to do so and there are no medical concerns in your pregnancy.
Can I exercise before my assessment?
We recommend avoiding exercise for 12–24 hours before the assessment – otherwise it may affect your urine analysis, body composition, and blood pressure measurements.
How long should I wait after donating blood before scheduling my health assessment?
We recommend waiting at least 12 weeks after donating blood before scheduling a health assessment.
