We offer a range of facial aesthetics treatments at Aqua-Tox, all performed by Lucy our Nurse Prescriber.
There are so many different treatments available within the realm of injectable aesthetics that it can sometimes be very difficult to decide which treatment is right for you.
Every client within clinic should be treated as an individual as the goals that they are aiming can be so diverse.
Injectable treatments are suitable for both men and women and can be used for a range of treatments from making people feel younger and fresher to building on people’s confidence and giving them that final push to make them feel happier in front of the camera and not be so afraid to join those ever-increasing zoom calls.
Whether you choose to opt for injectable aesthetics or a more bespoke prescription skin care regime, these are all things that we can discuss at an initial consultation.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for a non invasive alternative to our aesthetics treatments then take a look at our extensive range of skincare treatments including Radio Frequency Skin Tightening & Laser Skin Rejuvenation.

Aesthetics Treatments FAQs
Why would I go to a nurse for an aesthetic treatment??
We are very aware that the field of aesthetics is ever expanding, and a variety of people are branding themselves as aesthetic practitioners. In order to be an aesthetics nurse/practitioner you need to hold an NMC registration which means that we are accountable to do a regulatory body. This ensures patient safety and that all the appropriate mandatory safety training has been completed. It ensures that the products used are also purchased from reputable pharmacies and that you are never at risk from having anything unregulated injected into your face.
Lucy is also a part of numerous support groups with both doctors and nurses to ensure that should a complication arise from a treatment then you are the best hands to ensure that it is handled appropriately.
Appropriate insurance, the highest quality products and the highest levels of training are also guaranteed.
Being a nurse prescriber ensures that we can also undertake a consultation with our clients and prescribe accordingly following this- if you do not see a prescriber at your consultation then this should not happen.
Lucy is also registered as an assessor with Derma Medical Training academy.
Why can I not see before and after photos of aesthetics treatments on your website?
Due to strict advertising of the use of prescription medications the use of before and after photos are prohibited for certain treatments.
The nature of aesthetics treatments also means that the majority of our clients like to remain anonymous which can also make some before and after photos very difficult to obtain. We are always happy to share photos that we have consent to share at the time of consultation.
Where do the aesthetics treatments take place?
All of our aesthetics treatments will be carried out by our nurse prescriber Lucy at our private health clinic situated in Hertford, Hertfordshire. We’re a very friendly and private setting and we make your comfort and safety our top priorities. We have parking available and are in easy reach of surrounding towns including Ware, Harlow, Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield.
Why do I need a consultation before injectable aesthetic treatments?
Our aesthetics procedures are performed by our registered aesthetics nurse. The consultation process is the most important part of your journey with us. At this appointment we will discuss in detail what you are hoping to achieve from the treatment and explain how the procedure works in more detail. We will also do a thorough medical consultation to ensure that this is suitable for you. If we think that this is not the right treatment for you then we will discuss this in detail with you. Not every treatment is suitable for everyone and will have the same outcomes, so it is important that this information is outlined to you.
Are injectables painful?
When having injectables there is always the possibility of experiencing some slight discomfort and this varies between treatments. At Aqua-Tox we use nano needles in order for the treatment to be as comfortable as possible. You may experience a stinging sensation, but this is very temporary. We understand that any needles can be daunting for people and so will always do our best to reassure and support you throughout the procedure, using the aid of topical aesthetic creams where it is deemed appropriate. There is absolutely no pressure to have any aesthetic procedure should you feel too nervous.
Who are injectables suitable for?
Most aesthetic treatments are generally only recommended to those aged between 25-65 years old although it can be used off license for people outside of this age range. Dermal fillers can only be used over the age of 18 and appropriate identification may be required should you be lucky enough to look younger than your age.
Treatments cannot be given to pregnant or breastfeeding mothers. It is also not recommended to have a treatment if you are actively trying to conceive.
Treatments are not suitable if you have ever had a reaction to the treatments before.
If you are unwell on the day of treatment or taking certain medications then it may also not be the right time for you to have a treatment.
Are injectable aesthetic treatments safe?
Whilst you can be reassured that only the highest quality products will be used in Aqua-Tox all purchased from a reputable pharmacy and performed in a clean and safe environment, there is always the very rare possibility of complications.
The majority of these treatments have been carried out for many years, performed by thousands of practitioners around the world there are certain side effects and risks which should be discussed at the time of your consultation.
As Lucy is a registered nurse, we can always guarantee that the relevant emergency equipment and training will be available to ensure you are as safe as possible.
How quickly do injectables work?
Depending on the treatment results will vary from immediate to results to developing over a period of time. Occasionally the treatment wears off very quickly or does not work at all.
Unfortunately this is something that is out of our control and we will always strive to achieve the best results for you.
What will I feel like after having injectables?
You may experience some slight redness, bruising or a slight bump at the injection sites depending on the treatment performed. Due to the small needle used these are usually very minimal. Some clients may experience a mild/moderate headache and a tingling, itching sensation- these are temporary and are considered very normal..
Can men have injectables?
Absolutely aesthetic treatments are suitable for both men and women, with your privacy being maintained throughout.
How long do injectables last?
This is the golden question that we get asked all the time, although probably the most difficult question to answer. Everyone’s bodies uptake the products in different ways and will also last for varying amounts of time.
Looking after your skin and protecting your skin from sun damage will also help to increase the longevity of your results.
There are certain timeframes for when treatments can be repeated depending on the specific treatment- these will also be discussed with you at consultation.
How can I reduce the risk of complications from injectables?
Follow the aftercare advice that you will find on your post treatment email.
Avoid rubbing or touching the area for around 6 hours post the treatment.
Avoid alcohol, exposure to UV light and extreme heat including strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours post your treatment.
Avoid facials 48 hours post the procedure.
Will I need a top up?
For certain treatments we like to do a review appointment around 2 weeks post your treatment- this is not a top-up appointment but a chance for us to review the doses and see if any adjustments need to be made.
Adding more at this point when it is not required, will not change the longevity of your treatment. Adding more when it is not needed may actually be detrimental.
If you have any further questions or you’re unsure if an aesthetics treatment is right for you then please contact us to discuss in further detail.
